Wing Commander Tom Neil DFC AFC AE was one of the highest scoring RAF Aces of the Battle of Britain. Being a prolific writer of books and articles after the war, Red Kite was delighted to be offered the chance to publish some of his work.
All of these books are heavily based upon true stories that happened to or around Tom during his wartime service. Due to the sensitive nature of some of the stories, Tom changed the names to avoid embarrassment for relatives of the airmen involved. He also introduced one or two fictional characters to make the stories a little more rounded. However, be assured that most of what you read actually took place at some point!
Tom's natural writing style combined with his vast experience of operational flying throughout WWII brings a unique insight into how it was to be barely out of your teens yet in command of hundreds of men and fighting for your life on a daily basis.
